Okay I’m still hungover from yesterday’s chill-dance party really tired because I’m working the dayshift this week, so this is going to be a bit of a quickity blickity blog. The other week I posted from my dinner at the Hollywood Diner, my local diner. I’m really beat and didn’t eat today because I was so hungover because I didn’t have time at work, so I thought tonight will be another diner stop. This time at a 24-hour diner that’s nearby where I work called the Tick Tock Diner. I’ve only eaten there a couple times and I’m starvin’ like Marvin, so let’s hit the road, it’s within walking distance.
Aaaahhh! It's still light out! I hate working the dayshift!
And here we are, the Tick Tock Diner.
And like any self-respecting New York Diner, it's open 24 hours.
Okay, I just came in and asked a busboy where the counter is and there's no counter dining in here.
So I walked over here and I've learned that the operative word here is, "Wait." Because I've been waiting over five minutes now and no one has come forward to seat me. Fuck it, I know what has to be done...
To the Papaya! My personal Fortress of Solitude!
They've got beer here! Hair of the dog Lloyd!
My table awaits...
Gumby's all settled in...
Time to enjoy a little dinner and a large beer and in a deja vu moment, chill the fuck out. Why the fuck not?
And now, time for dessert.
Hair of the dog! Goodnight everybody and see you tomorrow...in the daylight. Fuck! I'll try to make tomorrow's post a little more lively!

And look closely at this picture of a seller of socks at a street fair that Gene took. Aaaaahhhh!

The Tick Tock refers to just how long you will wait to be seated before you leave.
You never need to apologize to us Marty. I'm always comforted by photos of the large beers from Papaya. Thanks for the Boomtown Rats!
POOR AL !!!!

@csp: Too true!
@Spike: Thanks! I'll try to make it a little more exciting tonight, though!
@GENE: That guy won't give up! Thanks for the linkage!
Dayshift?
I was wondering where the fuck you were.
Tried getting hold of you.
Have a few requests for Black on Light/White Rapture Wear.
Now that it's "rescheduled" for Oct. 21 we still have time.
Pace yourself Daddio.
Very funny title,,,I guess I will always be the Papaya hater,,,,oh well, been called worse. I saw Gene's link to that Harold Camper ( or whatever his name is),, what a phony piece of crap this old fart is. How many more miles can he get off this shit. Tuesday Weld was a real looker, she was in "Wild in the Country" with Elvis and pretty sure they did more than kiss.
I'm glad Papaya is always there for you. Nice to have a standby. Great additional pics of the chill party from the others.
Tick Tock Dinner Sucks , why would you spend you hard working dollar in that dump !!!
& How can it be a Dinner with no Dinner Counter , doesn't make sense .
I tried them only once & it was enough to say Fuck what did I eat .
If you went to 34St & 9Th Ave there is Skylight Dinner , there Great . I took Morgane there one late summer Friday evening to sit at the counter & have Ice cream , she didn't know that you can do that in American Dinners , It was Great & waiter was so friendly !!!
Cardboard Man's like the Royal Family - he's got cousins EVERYWHERE!
Fuck the Tick Tock.
Fuck waiting
Fuck anything with a clock on it..
yay for hot dogs and beer.
@"Boris:" Yeah, I'm working the dreaded dayshift! I'll try and call you later, Daddio, that is good about the shirts, gives us some time to promote them!
@Al: Whenever I go there I think of you and laugh!
@kari: It's a nice getaway spot for sure! And everybody's photos are great!
@Jason: I only went there because it was so close and I was so beat. I learned my lesson, never going back again! I'll check out the Skylight soon!
@Biff: Just like Chickenman, he's everywhere!
@Gidgie: Yay for you!
I apologize for not getting on here as much as i would like to. Working way too much for a man of my age. The Chillmaster Party was a knockout! I want to go to one! Can that happen? Papaya posts are always cool with me.......I want to go there after a Chillmaster party........Can that happen too?
I don't mind that you go to Papaya over and over, I just object to the fact that you're not a real New Yorker! LOL! Sorry couldn't resist! I think it's great you still go out and post even when you're dog tired! Love this post and love your blog!
I wish they served beer in diners in New Jersey!
ICE CREAM YEAHHHHH I'm an ice cream addict, yes the Skylight Dinner was nice, and also they have one of those bugble gum machine, so I told Jason to take one, to rub it on is ass and to put it back on the hole of the machine and wait for a kid to be the winner of 2 bubble gum! .... but he didn't.... chicken shit!!! ;)
Sorry I can't come as much as I would on this blog either, too much shit to deal with here, yeah marry a future immigrant in France then eat the shit that sarkozy made about immigrant laws! Anyway, the revolution starts in France too, like in Spain, 200 people are sitting and sleeping at the Capitole Place here in Toulouse :) Don't know how much in others cities but we gonna to get theeeem !!!!!!!! buwawawa!
@Professor Dungie: No need for apologies, I appreciate the fact that you squeeze the blog in between work and booze! And yes, it can all happen, just get out here!
@Barfly: Let's not get the Real New Yorker thing going again! Please! And thanks for the nice words!
@Meleah: They don't serve beer in diners in NJ? I thought that was a crime! We all know from the Sopranos that they do serve up onion rings!
@Zioum Zioum: I heard there were problems and hope you guys get them settled. I'm going to check the Skylight Diner out soon! I'll try the gumball trick!
those papaya dogs always look good me no matter how many times i see 'em...and that beer at that price thumbs up...nice shots GENE...your observations are always enjoyed...tick tock on one hand i'm sorry MAD was ignored...on the other maybe that cloud has a silver lining...after readin' customers reviews...many were quotable (hell a couple generated outright laughter) but the one that follows grabbed my chin hairs:
Go here only to avoid a hail storm.

@rr: That review is great! So is the quote! I'm never idle as long as there's a beer near, something Eric could never say!
That last Papaya picture is making me very thirsty. Tall Boy time!
@Uncle Waltie: You speak my language! Cheers!
A beer and a hotdog is never a bad thing! Take a nap, you deserve it. :)
@Britta: Thanks! Today's post will be up when I get my break here at work. I HATE the dayshift!
That is one delicious looking large beer!!
@Tiki Bar Susie: It was the best part of a long-ass day!
