Three words sums up today’s post: Chillmaster Dance Party Three! (And a shoutout and thanks to our friend EV Grieve who got the ball rolling with this post.)
The Chillmaster Dance Party Pre-drinks happen here at Mars Bar, which is still open. Unbelievable! And there's Ray out front.
And there's Hank in his chair, it's going to be a sad day when this is gone from this corner. Let's go inside.
There's Shawn and Lindsay at the bar.
And here's the whole crew, from left: Kate, Goggla, Yours Fooly, Shawn and Lindsay. We're ready to let the chilling begin!
Here's the infamous Chillmaster window and soul music is wafting from it.
The Chillmaster chair is empty...what the fuck?
All of a sudden we hear a, "Hey!" and it's the Chillmaster standing behind us!
Once inside it's the traditional pouring of the Hennessy...
And the music blasts...
The table is well stocked for the party.

And here's the Chillmaster's daughter, Anastazia. It was her 18th birthday so we all sang "Happy Birthday" to her.

Chill party looked great,,,,those strong cognac drinks would loosen anyone up. Mars is still alive and thats a good thing,,, gotta keep the party going as long as possible.

We desperately need some chillin' here in the midwest....110 degree heat index, dewpoints in the low eighties and the next two to three days are going to be even worse!

Great post, Marty!! Chillmaster is such a generous host and there is always such a fun time to be had with him and the crew.
I had no idea that yesterday would be our last day at Mars Bar. Sad, but I'm glad I spent my last trip there with some awesome people. Great to see you all, I had a wonderful time! Hope you are feeling well today

Very laid back chillin yesterday. Like Goggla, I think it was my favorite yet. Gumby had an interesting time, didn't he, but he maintained his good spirits. Keep him safe, Marty!

@Lindsay: That's one of my favorite songs and definitely my favorite Sam Cooke song. It was great to see you and I'm happy you could make it! It was a nice laid back Chillmaster Dance Party and yes, The Chillmaster does crank it to 11! Have a great vacation!
@onemorefoldedsunset: Always wonderful to see you! The Chillmaster got a little rough with Gumby, so I'm getting him a taco tonight. I think yesterday was the best one too, it's going to be a hard one to beat, but we'll have to try!
fuck...i envy you all...i really do!...i spent the day wonderin' why would all these people go to the movies and waste a great july day?...of course this wonderin' was w/ ice cold "rutgut 45" a few cats on the edge of alzhiemers and an occasional sip of jameson... but i still envy you all...
We groove off of everything, any sort of live show. The inner dialogue you're having with yourself, between you and the music, is for me the search for God.

What kind of monster cookies and tacos do the serve in New York City? Or was that all special effects and mirrors? How do you keep your girlish figure? By the way. Just between you and me; After reading my new book that you so kindly purchased from me at a really reasonable cost ( The title is "Hitchin'; God's Way Of Letting You Know You Don't Have A Car), would you really make it sound like a wonderfully cool and AWESOME book on your blog? Then, when you write your next book I'll re-sip-row-kate on my blog.(Sorry, I can't spell reciprocate.) Sadly, nobody reads my blog, but isn't it the thought that counts? My sisters and I were having a dance party last weekend too. Lots of alcohol and dancing to be had across the nation! Nice tradition you are keeping up there.
