Tonight I’m heading out with the Chillmaster for a few drinks at the International Bar. Four words says it all, “Why the fuck not?”
Another rainy, chilly-ass night in New York. This weather has been rotten lately. I think I'd prefer snow.
Okay, through the magic of the internet you're spared a subway ride that was a lot drier than it is here in the East Village. Let's get to the Chillmaster's, I'm wet outside and dry on the inside.
At first I was a little worried when I saw the Chillmaster window closed, but a quick knock and...
I'm inside with the Chillmaster who is well stocked for the night. We have a few pre-International Hennesy's...
And then it's time to hit the road.
It's cold out, so Gumby's got the fur action going on.
After a cold and rainy walk up 1st Avenue, we finally make it to the International Bar.
Ahh, it's great in here, one of the darkest bars in town.
And Eric was there at the bar. We got drinks and relocated up to the front window seats.
Three stooges at International Bar.
The windows were steaming up from the cold and Eddie the doorman was drawing something on the front door.
I'm going to title this: "How much is that doggie in the window?"
Meanwhile Eric and the Chillmaster are hanging back in our area of the bar.
The Chillmaster points out we've got our own blank canvas of a window.
And this is our message for this Thursday: "Chill!" Goodnight and see you tomorrow after dark.

Cardboard Box Man Mutation Sighting by Spike!
Spike sent in this latest CBBM mutation sighting along with the following words of wisdom: "Bathroom at boom boom room in standard hotel (work event I swear!). He's kinda goofy looking, maybe hoping we will drop our guard. Never I say! We must always be vigilant!" I agree! Thanks, Spike!

Leo The Barge Cat Needs A New Home!
If you live in New York and are a cat lover, a cat that was rescued from a barge last summer needs a new home. The story is over at EV Grieve right here: Leo Needs a New Home.

CBBM appears to be mocking you and Spike, Marty...he's sticking his tongue out at you...sticking his tongue out at us ALL! Damn him and his minions! We must be ever vigilant against the invasion that is sure to come...CBBM grows more arrogant by the DAY...more arrogant by the HOUR! Excuse me while I run a patch down the barrel of my assault rifle...
Well, hello fellas! Glad you had a fun time on an otherwise dreary night. What Eddie the Doorman drew was actually a "door cougar." Which is different from a "cougar door" entirely. Stick with the first one. Trust me.
How brave of you to venture out during the rain! Glad you had a good time at International - good to see the Chillmaster spreading his chill cheer!
@ Spike--great one!!!
Boys night out fun supreme!!
Gumby has a hat like mine--good taste.
@Jaws: Let us know if you are able to exterminate this brute! Happy hunting!
@Biff: "Which is different from a "cougar door" entirely." Ha ha ha! I hear you loud and clear, Bifferoonie!
@Goggla: It was a nice, chill night at the International, indeed!
@Melanie: You and Gumby are this year's Bobsey Twins!
International is the place. Chillmaster coming along makes for a great night. Nice cat.
Awww! What a great way to spend a rainy night!!! That hat looks great on Gumby but one of you guys should have worn it. Hope you guys had a great time!!!! Beware of cougar doors, indeed.
The Chillmaster ventures out! That's too cool, sorry...too chilled'.
Is that a new shirt, Marty? You should cut a hole in the elbow. What kind
Of sweet soul tunes are on the jukebox? And is there ever a chance
Of public chill master dance party? It could catch on.
@Al: Another great night out, two in a row!
@Lindsay: The wig gives Gumby a somewhat Beatlish look, yeah, yeah, yeah! And cougar doors could just be the new CBBM's!
@Cack D.U. No, I've had that shirt for quite a while, one of the few items in my wardrobe that's not black. The jukebox at International is great, everything from soul to garage rock and everything in between. And I have to ask: What does the "D.U." stand for?
I want a hat like Gumbys...
looks like a fun night out.
Chilling is always a good thing! I hope Leo finds a new home!
@Gidgie: If you're good, maybe Santa will get you one!
@Britta: It was a great night, thanks to the Chillmaster and Eric for hanging out! And I agree about Leo, I hope someone adopts him. Stay tuned to EV Grieve for details on that!
@MAD: Down Under
awesome ! .... they have regular Genesee beer in cans there !
Hey, thanks for that Booker T. video. Never saw that one before. For those of you who are too young to remember, that's The Shing-a-Ling most of them are doing on the dance floor. I'll bet the Chillmaster knows how to do it.
@Clacky: Yikes, I can't believe I didn't put that together! Once again I blame the drugs from the '70s...and '80s...and a few in the '90s.
@GENE: It's one of the few bars that offer Genesee in NYC!
@Ken K. in NJ: Glad you enjoyed the Booker T. video! I remember the Shing-a-Ling from back in the day, I need to ask the Chillmaster if he knows next time.
'tis the season...ya know i question WHY? can't the season be all the time?...yea i know that's kinda rhetorical...tryin' to stay on track w/o goin' on a rant...oh yeah..."fast goes fast and slow goes slow"...two nights w/ guests on MAD...both look like good times at great places...good to see all...
“A man has to work so hard so that something of his personality stays alive. A tomcat has it so easy, he has only to spray and his presence is there for years on rainy days.”

The 'Chillmaster' out of his element and into the elements.
Nive 'Bell Bottom Sleeve' on that shirt Daddio!
Sorry we've missed.
We'll catch up.
Got a few ideas up my own short sleeve for that design we spoke of.
Stay tuned.
Motherfucking un-editable posts.
NICE sleeve.
@rr: I think Terry Jacks has the answer to your season question. Great Einstein quote!
@"Boris:" Thanks for the nive comment, Daddio! Ha ha ha! We'll catch up soon and maybe even mustard!
Sorry I missed the fun! Just back from Timboo's & bratwurst. A good night.
@onemorefoldedsunset: I'll probably miss the closing of Timboo's and hope that maybe you can throw up a photo of the place before it closes on your fine blog.
