After yesterday’s Beatle post, I realized I haven’t seen the movie, “A Hard Day’s Night” in quite a while. I went to Netflix and it’s one of their movies that you can stream instantly. I’m pretty sure everybody’s seen the movie, so I’m just going to post the trailer and then pick ten iconic shots from the movie for tonight’s midnight movie. Okay, lights...camera...Ringo!

(UPDATE) Bonus Photo From Gene Rubbico
Gene and Smoopy are back in town and so far since last night they've hit 2745 bars and have had a combined total of 978 drinks between the two of them. They'll be joining me for Cheeseburger Saturday Night tonight, but in the meantime, here's a photo Gene took of a scary encounter the two of them had last night. Aaaaahhhh!

I wish the Beatles could come back and save us from the horrible crap music we have these days :(
I love the picture of Lennon snorting the Coke bottle! LOL! And a GREAT surprise link!
Barfly: you beat me to it,,,,Lennon snorting "coke" is hilarious. Beatles showed everyone that they were witty and very keen with their music,,,first class songs in this movie. MAD: Any chance you might go see McCartney next month at Yankee Stadium?
Saw this at the seaside when I was 5 - one of the first films I got to & I remember the excitement in the cinema. We lived pretty close to Liverpool (a great city!) & there was definitely a buzz about being from that part of the country when I was little. My sister has their autographs from the Cavern! Liked the Beatles best through Revolver.
@GENE: I hear you!
@Barfly: That's my favorite image in the movie! Glad you liked the Zombie Hard Day's Night!
@Al: I doubt I'll go to that, I don't like concerts in big stadiums like that. I'll see him if he plays the Beacon Theater.
@onemorefoldedsunset: I would have liked to have seen it in that theater! And your sister has their autographs from the Cavern, I have to hear that story tomorrow! Revolver is my favorite Beatles album along with Rubber Soul.
I'm one of those lame people that have never seen this movie. My father would be ashamed. Maybe Netflix will have to help pull me out of my lameness.
@kari: You can stream it on Netflix, so you can watch it anytime. It's a great movie with lots of laughs and starring two dead Beatles!
i agree that john lennon pic snorting the coke is hilarous! lol! never noticed that in the movie before! i need to watch this movie again!
Coincidentally I decided to watch this film last night - streaming it from Netflix via Roku box. It was great seeing it again; seems like I caught all kinds of little details I hadn't noticed before (though the last version I had of it was taped from old school TV - non DTV that is - so that might explain it!)
@rita r: I didn't notice it either until I had seen the movie about fifty times!
@Ian Roure: How funny! I was watching it on Netflix too! Keep me updated on Larch gigs please! Ladies and gentlemen, check out Ian's band The Larch here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOp5og6puAY
not to rain on the parade...never caught beatlemania...might be penis envy 4 against one...viewed HDN in mid sixties...didn't knock my socks off...guess i should view again 'n give another shake...

In regards to Gene's bonus photo; "...bullets can't stop them...rockets can't stop them...WE MAY HAVE TO USE NUCLEAR FORCE! WE CAN'T LET THEM REPRODUCE!! (go to the shelters,my baby my baby go to the shelters...go to the shelters)!" - Frank Zappa (paraphrased) from the album Roxy and Elsewhere.
@rr: You should really check out A Hard Day's Night, a funny movie with great songs in my humble opinion. Great quote yet again!
@Jaws: Ha ha ha! Perfect! Aaaah!
Sir Paul in Chicago will undoubtedly be the best thing to happen in Wrigley Field all season!
John needs a rock of pool cue chalk to go with that "Coke".
@"Boris": Ha ha ha! Memories! Good one, Daddio!
Yes!! Haven't seen A Hard Day's Night in a while, must revisit it! Love those Beatles movies!
AAAHHH!! Cardboard box men!!!
@Lindsay: If you have Netflix you can stream it immediately. And the Cardboard Box Men are multplying at a scary rate indeed! AAAAHHHH!
