Okay, today is going to be a quickity, blickity blog as I have to catch an airplane back to New York City. I had fun in Peoria and it was great seeing family and friends, but I’m looking forward to returning to my apartment in New York. Alright, here’s a couple photos, I gotta go pack.
The IHOP in Peoria. I've never eaten in here, but passed by it hundreds of times on the way to my parents house. This time it made me think about the East Village in New York. That's a little sad...okay, it's a lot sad.
My last night in Peoria, I met my friends Colleen and Tim Carey. You may remember that they were special guest stars on the 365 Bar Crawl last year for a couple of nights. And you should know/remember that if you haven't tried Butch's Pizza, you really should. Even if you're not in the Peoria area, you can order it online, just ask the BBC! (Scroll down to last update on this link.) Okay, I gotta run, see you tomorrow after dark.

Glad you are coming back. Have a safe flight.
"Mmmmmmm....pancakes...gllaaaagllaaaglglaaa" - Homer Simpson
Guess you didn't make it into bar 365 on this trip, am I right?
Hahaha! I actually tried the EV IHOP last Friday. My mouth is still coated in grease, rather like the one and only time I tried White Castle. The pancakes were actually good, but there are still 1000 other places to get a pancake around here....and without at bouncer. I did enjoy the thinly-veiled drug deals going down at the next table, though - I bet that's not happening in Peoria!
@Al ... I wonder where Marty met Colleen and Tim at ? ....... at first it looked like Exit 197 to me (#364) ....
I've never eaten at an IHOP, but maybe that's because I'm not such a big fan of pancakes. I'd rather have your classic breakfast of eggs, some meat, and shredded hash browns. And, yes, they have to be shredded; cubed or chunky just don't count. Oh, and I also like eggs benedict and corned beef hash, but I haven't met a benedict that could match the now defunct Out on Main's. And the hashes always make me nostalgic for the Waverly - and that kick-ass drop-em-down orange juice machine! Anyway, glad you had fun in Peoria. Safe travels back to the City.
In the immortal words of Cyndi Lauper, "I hop, you hop we all hop. She hop he hop at the I hop. I hope yu understand." Or something like that. Enjoy the flight.
Hey Biff, It's breakfast o'clock down here!! I could murder a benedict right about now....with some pineapple juice and a strong coffee....
@Melanie: Thanks, hope to see you soon!
@Jaws: Nice Homer quote!
@Al: No, but I'll definitely get there at Christmas time.
@Goggla: I'm cracking up that you actually ate there! Maybe I'll give it a try. I didn't hear of any drug deals going down at the Peoria IHOP, but I've heard you can get black market syrup in the john. Just a rumor though!
@GENE: I met Tim and Colleen at Kouri's bar. Not my favorite bar in Peoria, but it's centrally located and you can smoke in the back room.
@Biff: I'm back now, I need to check out what's happening at the Waverly Diner.
@csp: SHEBOP. I made it home without getting thrown in jail. Always a good thing!
@Clacky: Good luck on murdering that breakfast!
Welcome back!
Hey Marty, did you make it back alright, or did you get deplaned for drunkenness? This happened to a friend of mine who, being mortified of flying, got rip-roaring drunk and was asked to leave the plane. She was on her way to Madrid for a vacation with her mother and sister. They then left without her. Now you know why I tend to stay within walking distance. Welcome back.
@onemorefoldedsunset: Thanks! I feel just like Gabe Kaplan!
@Uncle Waltie: I made it back. I got arrested in Cincinnati a few years ago and learned my lesson. Drink your drinks, but keep your mouth shut to any airport personnel! Sip ahoy!
