Aaaahhh! So last night a transformer blew up over a car near my apartment building and triggered a number of other explosions. It sounded like World War III and was really scary because for a while nobody knew what was going on. We lost the power in my building and still don't have any. I'm posting this from work. I'll try to follow up sometime today with a post from last night, but so far this is one suck-ass way to start a week!
P.S. I'm updating this from work and I have a bunch of rush jobs to do. I'll comment back on the Coney Island post and hopefully update this later. What a horrible fucking day so far.
UPDATE @4:54PM: And the hits just keep on coming. There's an error problem SquareSpace is having with comments. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon. Oh and my job is fucking crazy today. Maximum boozing for tonight.
Update @5:45 PM: Looks like they fixed the comments section. Hooray! Oh, work still sucks.
Here's a video from YouTube from last night.
And here's two requests from Al and Crazy Eddie. And work still sucks by the way, going to be here late tonight!

Shit like this you just don't need, especially a week away from the 9/11 aniversary! Jeez, that must have been good for a skid mark or two in your shorts...
Wow! Look at it this way - there's never a dull moment in NYC. ;)
That's a lousy feeling when between all the week-end shootings and local explosions, you realize downtown Beirut sounds safer.
That sucks. After a week of an earthquake, a tropical storm and with 9/11 looming upon us now you get this. Scary times are indeed before us. Keep your head together is all I can say ;)
Author who brought you "100 Whores" and many others, which Marty liked! I'm still amazed...
@Jaws: For the first few minutes I walked outside it felt just like September 11th all over again. Really disturbing.
@Goggla: I'd give anything for a dull moment right now!
@csp: A lousy feeling indeed!
@Mykola Mich Denentiuk: Scary times, indeed! I'll be glad when next Sunday is over. And work sucks today. Aaahhh!
Hang in there Brother!
UFB ! .... the earthquake and hurricane didn't get you ... but a random explosion did ! .... I guess it was gonna be something eventually !
@"Boris": I'm hanging in there, right by my neck!
@GENE: At least it's got to get better, I hope!
Con Ed-such a lovely energy company.
You will be ready for an ice cold beer tonight, power failure is always the one thing that can get people upset rather quickly. "Transformer man" Neil Young would fit the bill today, you think?
@Crazy Eddie: Con Ed definitely lives up to it's first name!
@Al: Perfect song indeed! I'll post it when I get time, work is insane tonight!
"
@Al-Nice choice.
"work is insane tonight!"
Another would be:

May I also suggest:
at least it's Swizzle Stick Tuesday !
PARTY !!!
@Crazy Eddie: Good suggestion, I just put it up along with Al's!
@GENE: I think Swizzle Stick Tuesday will happen at my place tonight!
@MAD: Not so fun being inside the Gin Room is it?
@MAD ....... wonder if you have electricity yet ? ..... warm beer on Swizzle Stick Tuesday could make you angry ......
@csp: Not fun at all.
@GENE: I'll find out in a couple hours when my neighbor gets home. But I have to work late and get up early, so don't expect much tomorrow!
when i first saw Crazy Eddie's sugestion i flashed oh no!...after the great chillmaster road trip, the transformer explosion, and the stress/pressure of the job...MAD might snap back to the 99 persona and start obsessing 'bout why peter gabriel wants to shock "cute and fun" monkeys---then the rush jobs are stackin' up while MAD/99 is contemplatin' why peter is so pissed off...just a flash...
Explosions are not comfortable.

Such a crappy day you're having...hmm, well, this will either make it better or much, much worse...

:)
Excellent job Goggla !
@rr: I haven't gotten to that point...yet! Perfect and explosive quote!
@Goggla: I'm going now! Ha ha ha! I just saw them and left you a comment! Thanks for the larf, I needed it!
Damn hang in there! (but not like you did on the rope ladder) Take the night off and crash, you deserve it!
@kari: Thanks, I'm taking the night off and have to be back to work at 10 in the morning. Aaaahhh!
Marty IN the Dark.
Hope they get things fixed.
fuck
Marty, get a bottle of Vodka from the Liquor Store on 6rh Avenue before you get home, get a take-out Cheese Burger from the Hollywood Diner and a bag of ice from the grocery store down on 15th Street and reflect on the vagaries of life. By the time you come to, It'll all be good again. Works for me every time.
@"Boris:" The power's back on, so that's a start!
@tehennessey: Fuck indeed!
@Uncle Waltie: A great idea, I'll do it tonight after work. Thanks, my friend!
Sorry for thre crappy night. I can relate. Hope swizzle stick Tuesday was way better.
@Melanie: Thanks, but I worked too late to swizzle and have to be in early today, maybe next week!
I tried to comment yesterday but it wasn't working (as you know) I hope the rest of your work night got better!!! Sorry to hear it was awful!! Hope today is much better!
@Lindsay: Sorry about the comments not working, but thanks for chiming in today. As far as work goes, it's not much better, but as a co-worker just said to me, "At least you've got a release date." I feel like I'm in the army here!
Shore do love me some Peter Gabriel. Phil Collins shaves his neck straight down to his chest hair.
